Summer of 2007
While floating in a swimming pool in the most beautiful vacation rental of Palm Springs California I had a vision. What if we (my American self and my Venetian husband) did this. What if we moved back to Venice and became pioneers in the vacation rental business. Why not.
Five months later with a baby bump and a daily surge of pregnancy energy we remodelled and furnished our first two vacation apartments, Sunny and Cozy San Basilio. Saint Marks Terrace was directly to follow. Those were the days when the majority of the homes on the market for vacation rentals seemed more like nonna's forgotten storage space for all those inherited pieces nobody wanted to inherit. Having a background in architecture & interiors we felt we could make a difference in the rental market by offering spaces designed for travellers.
The business was going well and opportunities arose to take on other rental properties. We took the opportunities. We decorated and managed up to 10 apartments, I did lots of running, I acquired an acute knowledge of Venetian plumbing, I mastered the art of Venetian schlepping, but most importantly I met inspiring people from all of the world and I did lots of listening.
Today in 2019 we are the very proud owners of a boutique bed and breakfast on the grand canal, Cima Rosa and our three lovely vacation rental properties, where it all started. This website to showcase our properties has been a long time coming.
